New York Life Insurance Co. is recruiting a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with business and outcome teams.

You will rapidly convert prototypes and validated product intent into production-ready software using AI-assisted development workflows, while aligning with enterprise architecture and security standards. This role emphasizes partnering with Product Owners, domain and data experts, and engineers to deliver outcomes in a fast-paced, iterative cycle, leveraging generative AI and agentic

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field with 5+ years of relevant experience; a Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent practical experience.
Agentic Software Development - Experience using AI engineering agents and specification-driven development practices.

Responsibilities

Translate validated prototypes and product intent into working software using agentic and AI-assisted development workflows.
Orchestrate AI engineering agents across implementation activities, including code generation, testing, debugging and planning.
Iterate between prototype, specification and implementation with close collaboration of Product Owners and team members.
Translate functional specifications into technical designs, components, APIs, and production-ready code.
Work with Product Owners, users, Domain SMEs, Data SMEs, and engineers in rapid feedback cycles.
Integrate applications with enterprise APIs, data platforms, security and controls.
