Job summary

Citi is seeking a Lead / Staff Forward Deployed Engineer in New York to architect and deploy end-to-end agentic workflows. You will lead technical problem-solving with LOB squads, integrate with core banking backends, and set standards for security and reliability across the platform.

You will own the full engineering lifecycle, from architecture to deployment, with a focus on hands-on development, collaboration, and rapid delivery to production environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant software engineering experience, including backend/distributed systems and 2+ years in production LLM/agentic apps.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the senior technical anchor collocated with LOB engineering squads, leading problem-solving and architecture on agent deployments.
• Architects and builds end-to-end agentic workflows using Python, ADK, LangGraph, and Arc platform for high-impact business use cases.
• Leads deep technical integrations with core banking systems, databases, and microservices via MCP servers.
• Implements robust enterprise security controls for agentic executions (mTLS, OAuth2, Vault, OpenShift).
• Mentors engineers within the pod, conducting code reviews and security assessments.
• Partners with the Principal AI Architect to evaluate field design patterns and contribute to enterprise blueprints.
