Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, TX.

The role involves ensuring compliance with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards, performing design reviews, inspections, and coordination with project teams throughout all construction phases. The ideal candidate will have a PE license, 5+ years of fire protection experience, and strong technical writing and communication skills to work with government

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum five (5) years of fire protection engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and fire/life safety requirements.
• Experience with US Army Corps of Engineers or federal projects preferred.
• Experience with QA, commissioning, and acceptance testing of fire protection systems.
• Familiarity with RMS/QCS and federal construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Understand UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards and apply them to designs.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure successful fire protection features.
• Perform plan review, onsite inspections, and acceptance testing.
• Review submittals and RFIs, providing technical comments.
• Provide guidance on facility design and fire protection systems.
• Serve as fire safety consultant to project managers and government personnel.
