Job summary

Avidity Biosciences, Inc. is seeking a Scientist I in the Analytical Development & Formulation group in San Diego, hybrid with remote options.

The role focuses on clinical and commercial formulation development of AOC drug product and drug substance, with opportunities to support developability assessments and external collaborations. You will work hands-on with analytical and biophysical methods, manage documentation, and present data at team meetings.

Qualifications

• PhD in chemistry, biology, pharmaceutical sciences or related field.
• Experience with analytical biophysical characterization and formulation stability.
• Strong written and verbal communication; cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct formulation stability studies of mAb and AOC liquid and lyophilized dosage forms.
• Conduct in-use compatibility studies for IV and SC routes.
• Perform developability assessments of early-stage protein biologics using predictive analytical methods.
• Prepare buffers and manage laboratory supplies and inventory.
• Collaborate with vendors for maintenance of analytical instruments.
• Support drug substance/product process development activities when needed.
• Be hands-on in lab work, support biology and chemistry with analytical characterization.
• Train lab personnel on instrument use and methods.
• Specify and install formulation-related instrumentation and equipment.
• Maintain electronic notebooks and write technical reports.
