Job summary

Avid Bioservices is seeking an Associate Scientist, Biologics Formulation Development to lead formulation development activities within the Process Development department. You will define formulation strategies, execute technical studies, and collaborate with Downstream Process Development, Analytical Sciences, and external partners to support client programs.

Qualifications

Master’s or PhD in Biochemistry/Chemistry with 4–5 years of relevant experience.
Experience in formulation development and stability studies of biologics.
Hands-on experience with biophysical analyses and protein characterization.

Responsibilities

Lead formulation development of biologics (mAbs), including pre-formulation and stability studies.
Apply analytical techniques for protein characterization (DLS, DSC, SEC, CE, rheology).
Develop high concentration mAb formulations; mitigate aggregation and viscosity.
Design experiments, analyze data, and prepare protocols and development summaries.
Plan analytical testing strategies (HPLC, CE-SDS, SDS-PAGE, UV) for formulation studies.
Establish workflows and best practices for biologics formulation development.
Work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Present study plans and results to internal/external stakeholders.
Mentor junior scientists and support onboarding.
Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
