Job summary

Eaton’s Sumter, SC facility is hiring a Kitter/Material Handler-Forklift Operator for Fri–Sun 5am–5pm. The role pays $16.00/hour and includes a variable incentive program, with salary guidance based on skills and experience.

You will move materials, perform cycle counts, operate forklifts and cranes, and prepare shipments to support on-time production while ensuring Eaton’s quality standards and safety rules are followed. Teamwork and continuous improvement are essential for success.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Must reside within 50 miles of Sumter, SC to be considered.
• Position requires experience in forklift and/or crane operation to transport and locate equipment and materials.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and cranes to transport equipment and materials to required areas.
• Receive, document, store, stage and issue all job-related material to satisfy production requirements.
• Support assembly and fabrication requirements for materials as needed.
• Package, create and band equipment, parts, materials, products and accessories to minimize damage during shipment or staging.
• Apply labels, stickers, stencils as required for identification and ease of storage or shipping.
• Exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position.
• Receive and carry out work assignments from management and internal customers to fulfill customer orders on time.
• Comply with all safety and industrial hygiene requirements and use of PPE.
• Keep assigned work-area clean and organized per 5S standards.
• Work with team members to complete work assignments and meet customer needs and product requirements.
• Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve obstacles in production.
• Perform Lean Initiatives by recommending improvements to quality, processes, and safety.
