Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Material Controller for 1st Shift in Sumter, SC. The role runs 6am–2:30pm, Monday–Friday, with an hourly rate of 17.68/hour. Eligible for a variable incentive program and within a general guideline framework based on skills and market considerations.

The position involves receiving shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy in Eaton systems, and supporting production needs to ensure timely order fulfillment while upholding Eaton’s quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing or operations experience in shipping, receiving, inventory management, warehouse, material handling or related field
• Current or prior certification in operation of forklifts used to transport and locate equipment and materials to required areas
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Sumter facility (50 mile radius) will be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Receive shipments from external vendors and complete transactions in Eaton systems to maintain accurate inventory with the overall goal of timely order fulfillment and adherence to Eaton’s quality standards.
• Coordinate cycle count function in the storeroom; run printouts for cycle count origination; analyze counts for accuracy and resolve errors.
• Receive, document, store, stage and issue all materials to satisfy production requirements.
• Support production line requirements as necessary.
• Prepare shipping paperwork, commercial invoices, and other required documents.
• Ensure quality and safety adherence; perform quality checks and Lean initiatives as applicable.
