Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Walker, MI has 1st shift 6:00 AM–2:00 PM and 2nd shift 2:00 PM–10:00 PM openings for forklift operators. You will perform material handling, move loads with HiLo equipment, and ensure safe operation while supporting plant efficiency.

Requirements include 18+ years old, HS diploma or GED, ability to read/write/speak English, and the ability to stand 8–10 hours. ESOP benefits and comprehensive company perks are available.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to safely perform duties and follow instructions/safety procedures.
• Stand for 8-10 hours daily and be physically capable of job tasks.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• One month related experience or training; or equivalent education/experience.
• Previous material handling experience preferred.
• Previous HiLo driving experience preferred.
• Demonstrates commitment to high performance, reliability, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Observe and comply with safety, environmental, regulatory, and job requirements.
• Participate in needs analysis and scheduled training.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• Stop work on processes to contain suspect or defective material.
• Drive forklift and maneuver lifting devices to move loads.
• Position forks and lifting devices to load/unload pallets and materials.
• Stack and unload materials; transport within the plant.
• Maintain accurate inventory and supply materials as needed.
• Operate within standard workflow to support plant flow.
• Follow written and verbal workplace instructions.
