Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a forklift operator for a 12-hour shift at our Holland, MI plant. The role involves safe operation of powered lifting devices, inventory movement, and strict adherence to safety and procedural guidelines.

You will move materials, load/unload pallets, and assist with inventory while following all company policies. ESOP benefits and growth opportunities reflect our employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform duties.
• One month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous material handling experience preferred.
• Previous Hilo driving experience preferred.
• Maintains high standards of performance and integrity.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions and work up to 12 hours per day including weekends.
• Good organizational skills and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Observe and comply with safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
• Participate in needs analysis and training programs for the position.
• Support continuous improvement activities and auditing efforts.
• Stop work on processes as needed and contain defective material to prevent rework.
• Drive truck and operate lifting devices, position forks and load materials.
• Unload, stack, and move materials; transport to designated areas.
• Inventory materials and supply workers as needed.
• Weigh materials or products and record weights on tags or schedules.
• Load or unload materials onto pallets or lifting devices.
• Recharge batteries or replace liquefied gas tanks.
