Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator for our Orlando, FL site. The role involves safe loading/unloading, staging, scanning, and movement of freight in a fast-paced dock environment.

As a skilled operator, you will assist with mentoring others, follow safety protocols, and maintain documentation accuracy while supporting daily logistics and warehouse activities. This is an on-site position requiring certification and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure (or ability to obtain before operating equipment) required.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment (MHE) safely and proficiently.
• Regular and predictable attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors, trailers, and designated warehouse areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading and unloading activities following dock and safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight using handheld scanning devices and company systems to ensure accuracy.
• Identify damaged freight and promptly report issues or safety concerns to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized dock environment and operate dock equipment safely.
• Support dock productivity and assist with workflow coordination as needed.
