Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, stage, and move freight within a multimodal terminal environment.

You will use sit-down/stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, and handheld scanning devices to ensure accurate documentation and on-time shipments. Applicants should have 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience, a valid forklift certification, and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Requires forklift certification/licensure or the ability to obtain before operating equipment.
• Minimum 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, to understand safety and operational instructions.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic to verify freight counts, quantities, and weights.
• Willingness to learn and use basic computer systems and freight-tracking devices.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE, with safe lifting techniques.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors, trailers, and designated areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight using handheld devices and company systems.
