Forward Air Corp. in Louisville, KY seeks an experienced Forklift Operator to safely load/unload freight, stage shipments, and maintain accurate documentation.

You will operate sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE, ensuring dock productivity and adherence to safety standards. Required qualifications include 3+ years in a dock/warehouse, forklift certification, strong English communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs with occasional heavier loads with assistance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience.
• Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain before operating equipment.
• Effective English communication, both written and verbal.
• Ability to recognize numbers, labels, barcodes, and freight markings.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with occasional 75 lbs with assistance.
• Willingness to learn basic computer systems and scanners.

Responsabilités

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE.
• Move, stage, and position freight between dock doors and trailers.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight using handheld devices and systems.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, safe dock environment and wear PPE as required.
• Learn equipment operation and safety procedures under supervision.
• Support dock productivity and overall operational goals.
• Work scheduled shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
