Forward Air Corporation is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, and transport freight within a multimodal terminal. You will assist with mentoring new Material Handlers and uphold safety and documentation standards.

Responsibilities include using MHE, staging freight, labeling, scanning, and coordinating with drivers. Candidates should have forklift certification and 3+ years of dock experience; expect 8-12 hour shifts with physical demands in a non-climate-controlled dock

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure or ability to obtain before operating equipment.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to recognize numbers, labels, barcodes, and freight markings; perform basic arithmetic.

Responsabilidades

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and reach trucks and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and designated areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight with handheld devices and systems for accuracy.
• Report damaged freight or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
• Maintain a clean, safe dock environment and follow PPE standards.
• Learn equipment operation and safety procedures under supervision.
• Support dock productivity and workflow efficiency.
• Work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
