Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking a part-time program trainer to develop and conduct specialized training sessions for YMCA members at Jennersville YMCA in West Grove, PA. You will help grow programming within your specialty and maintain a safe, engaging environment.

You’ll lead classes with enthusiasm, demonstrate advanced skills, and organize records while coordinating with staff and parents. Training and compliance will be provided, and the role supports a vibrant community program.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of advanced experience in specialty field and/or pursuing advanced education in a related field
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs
  • Experience teaching a minimum of 4 years in the specialized area
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the specialized area
  • Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Conducts class sessions as scheduled and provides assistance in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous, and professional manner
  • Leads program with enthusiasm and positive motivation
  • Promotes and exhibits a healthy attitude, lifestyle, and appearance
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge and ability to demonstrate skills necessary for specialty field
  • Organizes and maintains program records (attendance, rosters, etc.)
  • Manages all equipment
  • Maintains a clean and risk-free environment
  • Communicates effectively with participants and parents, and addresses questions before classes start
  • Ensures all children are picked up by a parent
  • Promotes other YMCA programs by sharing information and referrals
  • Create staff schedule and communicate with staff
  • Ensures compliance with YGBW policies and procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

What You’ll Do

  • Communicates effectively and timely with program participants and parents. Prior to the start of class (monthly or academy), communicates and assists participants with questions.
  • Ensures all children are picked up by a parent.
  • Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referring inquiries to appropriate person.
  • Create staff schedule and communicate with staff.
  • Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: What You'll Need
  • Minimum of 7 years of advanced experience in specialty field and/or pursuing advanced education in a related field (i.e. Dance, Tennis, Martial Arts, etc.)
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs
  • Experience teaching a minimum of 4 years in the specialized area
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the specialized area
  • Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
