Job summary

Advocate Condell Medical Center is seeking a Forensic Nurse Examiner (SANE) to support the forensic nursing program. The role requires RN licensure, a didactic and clinical training pathway, and on-call coverage with a 48-hour commitment every six weeks.

The FNE/SANE will perform forensic examinations, collect evidence, and provide guidance to patients while coordinating care with the nursing leadership to maintain patient safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• Forensic nursing knowledge and ability to collect evidence per standards.
• Proficient in electronic medical records and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct forensic examination documenting evidence for court or police proceedings.
• Perform forensic interview with patient regarding abuse incident(s).
• Collect specimens and DNA, photograph injuries, perform genital and other required examinations.
• Provide patient care and coordinate resources to support procedures and department operations.
