Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE/SANE) in Oshkosh, WI for an on-call role that floats to Oshkosh and Fond du Lac. The FNE will perform forensic exams and interviews, collect specimens, and coordinate care with the department.

Experience in acute nursing and certification in forensic nursing are valued, with duties expanding to staff guidance and program support. Requires RN licensure in the state, BLS certification, and 1 year of clinical nursing experience;

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 6 months.
• Completion of an accredited nursing program; WI nurses require didactic & clinical training.
• Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience; new RN grads considered.

Responsibilities

• Conduct forensic examinations and catalog evidence for possible court use.
• Conduct forensic interviews with victims of abuse.
• Collect specimens, DNA samples, photos of injuries, and perform age-appropriate exams.
• Provide care and guidance throughout required treatments to patients.
• Coordinate resources, supervise staff, and ensure smooth department operations.
• Monitor staffing, enforce policies, and maintain quality patient care.
