Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's Degree and RN licensure in Ohio.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) is required.
• SANE-A and SANE-P credentials are required or clearly demonstrated.
• Active RN license with Ohio Board of Nursing.
• Forensic nursing certification credentials completed or in progress.

Responsibilities

• 80% Assessment/Diagnosis: collect comprehensive data and perform head-to-toe assessments.
• Collect evidence using a kit per Ohio Dept. of Health and document findings.
• Identify injuries, report to physician, and document nursing diagnoses.
• 20% Safety Planning/Follow up care: develop safety plans with involved parties and coordinate tests.
• Testify in court regarding the examination process and evidence collected.
• On-call requirements include 24 hours/month, attend meetings, and pursue ongoing education.
