Job summary

Providence Health & Services is hiring a Forensic Nurse Examiner in Portland, OR to provide timely forensic examinations, prophylaxis, documentation, and referrals, while coordinating with partners in advocacy, law enforcement and protective services.

Requirements include an accredited nursing degree, Oregon RN license, BLS certification, 2 years nursing experience, and completion of the 40-hour IAFN or OR SATF SANE-A course. This is an on-site, full-time position.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Completion of the 40hr IAFN or OR SATF SANE-A course.
• Oregon RN license required at hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association at hire.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical-forensic exams in accordance with protocols.
• Provide pregnancy and STI prophylaxis and documentation.
• Coordinate referrals for medical/psychological follow-up.
• Collaborate with advocacy, law enforcement, prosecutors and protective services.
