Job summary

Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc provides forensic consulting services requiring Civil Engineering expertise for insurance, legal, industrial, and other clients. Investigates and determines causes and origins of structural failures and building envelope issues, and prepares oral and written reports with expert testimony when needed. The role manages multiple projects, coordinates with other experts, and ensures safety diligence and timely client deliverables.

A B.S. in Civil Engineering and a P.E.

Qualifications

• B.S. Civil Engineering degree or higher.
• P.E. required in the state of employment or the ability to obtain it quickly
• 2-10+ years of experience.
• Project Management and/or Field Investigation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs the investigation and analysis of residential, commercial, and industrial properties for the purpose of resolving legal matters and claims.
• Performs forensic assignments within civil engineering and/or construction expertise based on a scope of work and budget agreed with the client.
• Field Investigations: study causes of construction defects or structural failures, assess extent and repairability, and document on-site conditions.
• Preparation of oral and written reports to document causes, extent of loss, and remediation recommendations; provide opinions and expert testimony when needed.
• Manages multiple projects, coordinating with other experts to produce client reports in a timely manner.
• Ensures safety due diligence of the project during execution.
• Initiates, develops and maintains mutually beneficial client relationships.
