Job summary

Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc. is hiring a senior forensic civil engineer to assess causes and origins of structural failures and building envelope issues. You will prepare findings, reports, and, when needed, provide expert testimony.

This role requires a B.S. in Civil Engineering, a P.E. license, and 5+ years of experience. Occasional field work and travel up to 50% are expected; strong communication and client-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. Civil Engineering degree or higher.
• P.E. licensure in the state of employment or the ability to obtain it quickly.
• 5+ years of experience.
• Project Management and/or Field Investigation preferred.
• Licenses may be required depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Performs the investigation and analysis of residential, commercial, and industrial properties to resolve claims.
• Performs forensic assignments within civil engineering scope based on a defined budget and scope.
• Field investigations to determine cause/origin of defects; document conditions and interview stakeholders.
• Prepare oral and written reports, provide opinions and testimony when needed.
• Manage multiple projects and coordinate with experts to deliver client reports.
• Ensure safety and due-diligence throughout the project.
• Develop and maintain mutually beneficial client relationships.
