Job summary

Yona Eagle in New Jersey seeks a Manager in Training (MIT) for Food Services to learn and assist with organizing, planning, directing, controlling, and supervising the dietary department in a long-term care facility.

The MIT will contribute to quality dining programs, ensure compliance with standards, train staff, manage schedules, and support cost-effective operations while fostering resident satisfaction and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Food service supervisory experience required; at least two years experience in long term care preferred
• ServSafe Certification for Managers, National Restaurant Association
• Certified Dietary Manager, CDM/CFPP per ANFP credentialing body

Responsibilities

• Assist the Food Services Director with leading quality dining programs that will enhance the meal experience for the residents
• Work with the Food Services Director to ensure dining programs meet federal, state, and local standards and regulations
• Train workers in procedures and proper operation and maintenance of equipment
• Supervise and evaluate the quality of work completed by department employees
• Plan work and staffing schedules to ensure adequate services are rendered; maintain proper staffing levels
• Maintain records including inventory, compliance, income/expense, and personnel records
• Manage a cost-effective program to budget
• Maintain excellent relations with residents, visitors, and all community departments
• Actively participate in facility meetings and committees
• Follow all Company policies and procedures
• Promote the professional growth and development of the entire departmental team
• Conduct quality assurance rounds and inspections to ensure current quality controls and methodologies are suitable and sustainable
• Report monthly initiatives, goals, and accomplishments
• Promote and monitor resident satisfaction
• Ensure that the food service operation is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner
