Job summary

Yona is looking for a Manager in Training (MIT) for Food Services to join the team and learn to organize, plan, direct, control, and supervise functions within the dietary department of a long-term care facility.

This role supports the Food Services Director to ensure programs meet standards, trains staff, schedules shifts, maintains records, and promotes resident satisfaction through quality dining services.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in food service; long-term care preferred.
• ServSafe Certification for Managers.
• CDM/CFPP certification or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Food Services Director with leading dining programs.
• Ensure dining programs meet federal, state, and local standards.
• Train workers in procedures and equipment operation.
• Supervise and evaluate staff quality of work.
• Plan staffing schedules and maintain adequate service levels.
• Maintain records (inventory, compliance, income/expenses, personnel).
• Manage cost-effective program budgeting.
• Foster positive relations with residents, visitors, and departments.
• Participate in facility meetings and committees.
• Promote professional growth of the team.
• Conduct quality assurance rounds and inspections.
