The State of Rhode Island is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee dining area operations. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring compliance with health standards, and managing food service programs. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: To be responsible for the supervision of an assigned food service staff in dining areas or cafeterias providing table, counter, booth or cafeteria line service; and to do related work as required.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the general supervision of a superior from whom general and specific instructions are received; work is reviewed for conformance to such instructions and for results obtained.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Trains, supervises, instructs and reviews the work of subordinates engaged in performing work in a food service program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Capacities: Knowledge of food service methods, health hazards, and safety precautions; ability to assist in food standards application; supervise staff; inspect food areas; prepare reports; interact courteously with the public; and related skills.
Education and Experience: Completion of twelve school grades and experience in a food service program, or equivalent education and experience.
Special Requirements: Must be physically qualified at appointment, as evidenced by a physician's certificate.
Proof of immunity against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis, Hepatitis B, and Tuberculin Skin Test is required prior to employment.
