Job summary

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a Food Service Host to join the Food & Nutrition Services team. You will interact directly with patients to ensure they receive nutritious meals and an outstanding dining experience during their hospital stay.

Shifts are scheduled between 3:30pm and 8:00pm, with every other weekend and every other holiday required. This is a patient-facing role focused on delivering accurate, attractive meals and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Qualifications

• Enjoys working directly with people and providing outstanding customer service.
• Has experience in food service, hospitality, retail, or another customer-facing environment.
• Experience serving patients, residents, or guests is preferred.
• Demonstrates professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with meal selection and menu collection.
• Deliver and serve meals while providing excellent customer service.
• Ensure meals are served accurately, attractively, and within established timeframes.
• Verify patient identification and follow department procedures during meal service.
• Respond professionally to patient requests and concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in assigned work areas.
• Follow food safety, hand hygiene, and infection prevention standards.
• Communicate patient feedback and concerns to the appropriate healthcare team members.
