Job summary

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a Food Service Host to join our Food & Nutrition Services team. You will interact directly with patients to help ensure they receive nutritious meals and an outstanding dining experience during their hospital stay.

Shifts are 16 hours per week, with work between 3:30pm and 8:00pm, and every other weekend and holiday. Ideal candidates enjoy working with people, have experience in food service or customer-facing environments, and demonstrate professionalism,

Qualifications

Experience in food service, hospitality, retail, or another customer-facing environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience serving patients, residents, or guests is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with meal selection and menu collection.
Deliver and serve meals while providing excellent customer service.
Ensure meals are served accurately, attractively, and within established timeframes.
Verify patient identification and follow department procedures during meal service.
Respond professionally to patient requests and concerns.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in assigned work areas.
Follow food safety, hand hygiene, and infection prevention standards.
Communicate patient feedback and concerns to the appropriate healthcare team members.
