Job summary

Christian Appalachian Project seeks a dependable kitchen aide to plan, prepare and serve nutritious meals for preschool children while adhering to CACFP guidelines and licensing rules. The role supports teachers and the center's mission, with day shifts and a non-profit work environment.

Qualified applicants have a high school diploma and be capable of driving CAP vehicles after obtaining the required certifications; prior child care or food service experience is valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent General Studies Required.
• Less than 1 year of successful experience in related field or combination of education and experience.
• CAP Driving Certification (or ability to obtain within first 90 days)
• CPR and First Aid (or ability to obtain) Required.
• Food Handler Required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves breakfast, lunch and snacks according to the center’s daily schedule. Follows appropriate portion sizes and nutritional guidelines. Delivers meals to classrooms and maintains timely service.
• Completes and maintains required records in accordance with the Federal Food Program guidelines and regulations, including meal counts and attendance in a timely manner.
• Assists with participant transport by serving as a bus monitor with 3–5-year-old children as needed.
