Job summary

Envision, Inc. seeks a dedicated kitchen/ classroom support partner to prepare and serve meals for children in the Center. You will follow CACFP guidelines while helping with daily classroom activities and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, cooking experience, and certifications (food handler, CACFP safety, CPR/First Aid). This role blends food service with classroom assistance within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: Production or commercial cooking experience; CACFP experience preferred.
• Knowledge: Basic early childhood food prep and nutrition; clear communication with students and staff.
• Licenses/Certifications: Food handler’s certification; CACFP Safety training; CPR/First Aid within 30 days; 30 hours yearly early childhood training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks for center children.
• Follow CACFP and regulatory requirements; maintain proper meal-service schedules.
• Keep kitchen clean, sanitary, and organized; store and rotate food items.
• Plan, purchase, and stock kitchen supplies to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Collaborate with Center Administrator to develop weekly CACFP-compliant menus.
• Document purchases, menus, and meal data for CACFP reimbursements and audits.
• Provide classroom support and assist teaching staff as needed to maintain ratios.
• Engage with students during activities; promote a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Perform related duties to support the Center’s operations.
