Job summary

CAPCC is seeking a dedicated Kitchen/Food Service role to coordinate daily meal preparation for breakfast, lunch, and snacks in a childcare setting. The position emphasizes chaperoning children, maintaining CACFP records, and supervising kitchen staff to ensure safety and sanitation.

Required are a High School Diploma or GED, valid Pennsylvania? safety certifications, and the ability to perform occasional heavy lifting. Experience with volume cooking is preferred and training will be provided.

Qualifications

  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with the public.
  • Demonstrates the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing environment.
  • ServSafe Certification.
  • Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all children are appropriately chaperoned and never left unattended in all situations such as facility, transportation, playground, or community outing.
  • Coordinates daily food preparation using efficient methods in volume food preparation for breakfast, lunch, and snack.
  • Maintains records required by CACFP: food usage, menu changes, inventory, daily meal counts, allergies, ordering.
  • Oversees other kitchen staff to assure proper cooking and sanitation methods.
  • Maintains equipment, clean and sanitize kitchen facility per PA State Health Dept, Head Start Standards, and State Regulations.
  • Conducts on-site mini training sessions for staff and parents.
