Job summary

Wisconsin Union is seeking a Food Service Assistant Manager for the Fluno Center on the UW–Madison campus. The role oversees catering and dining operations, manages event setups, bartending knowledge is a plus, and handles budgeting, scheduling and inventory.

It also directs student employee recruitment and training. A successful candidate will have prior full-service restaurant or catering leadership experience, with ServSafe certification preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of supervisory experience in a food operation – restaurant or catering.
• Bartending experience is preferred.
• ServSafe certificate held or obtainable within 6–12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with budget monitoring and inventory levels.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and policies.
• Develop and oversee day-to-day workflow of food service staff.
• Schedule logistics and menus for daily and catering operations.
• Lead customer service discussions and provide information on food preparation and catering.
