Job summary

University Housing is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to lead food production in residential dining facilities on the UW–Madison campus. You will supervise student workers, ensure quality and safety, and coordinate daily operations including catering and events.

The role requires strong culinary skills, experience in high-volume kitchens, and a commitment to customer service in a dynamic campus environment. In-person, on-site work with varied shifts and weekend rotation is expected.

Qualifications

• 2 years of food service experience in a professional kitchen setting.
• Current ServSafe Manager certification, or the ability to be certified within the first 6 months of appointment.
• A valid driver's license meeting UW Risk Management standards is required for catering positions and preferred for in-unit positions.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Develops and schedules logistics and menus for daily and catering operations.
• Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas.
• Leads and provides exceptional customer service, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation, catering, and associated activities.
• Assigns and coordinates the day-to-day activities of food service staff.
• Performs routine and non-routine food preparation activities including cook to order and specialty foods.
