Qualifications

• Six years of experience processing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
• Demonstrated knowledge of FOIA rules and exemptions (b4, b5, b6).
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and analyze new and backlogged FOIA requests.
• Intake requests and prepare FOIA folders.
• Enter data in the FOIA tracking database.
• Draft FOIA correspondence and response letters.
• Negotiate with requesters and FOIA staff as needed.
• Coordinate with agencies and contractors on records releases.
• Identify responsive documents and safeguard exempt information.
