CGS Federal is seeking a FOIA Analyst to support the legal mission of a large federal agency. The role focuses on processing FOIA requests, drafting correspondence, and negotiating with requesters and stakeholders.

The position requires six years of FOIA experience and proficiency with FOIA tools. A government security clearance is preferred, and the candidate should be able to work independently while communicating effectively.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of experience processing FOIA requests.
• Knowledge of FOIA exemptions b(4), b(5), and b(6).
• Experience redacting records with trade secrets and confidential commercial information.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to obtain a government security clearance.

Responsabilités

• Receive, review, and analyze new and backlogged FOIA requests.
• Intake incoming requests and prepare FOIA request folders.
• Enter request data in the FOIA tracking database.
• Draft response letters and other FOIA correspondence.
• Communicate and initiate negotiations with requesters, FOIA staff, sponsors, and contractors.
