Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Seattle, WA is seeking an experienced mechanical/aerospace engineer to lead design, development, and testing of rocket fluid systems for the 4-Engine second stage of New Glenn. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • 3+ years of professional engineering experience with complex fluid systems.
  • Experience with spacecraft or launch vehicle fluid systems and components.
  • Solid understanding of fluid components such as valves, tubing, pressurized hardware, seals, and fittings.
  • Proficiency in engineering drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).

Responsibilities

  • Design fluid component hardware to meet cost, performance, and schedule constraints.
  • Design and route complex fluid subsystems (i.e., pressurization, pneumatics, propellant utilization).
  • Create and own the development, acceptance, and qualification test activities for your hardware.
  • Work with fluid components (i.e., solenoid valves, pneumatic valves, regulators, pressure vessels and instrumentation).
  • Coordinate test readiness and execution, including test fixturing design, work order management, materials procurement, test setup and configuration, instrumentation, and manufacturing coordination.
  • Deliver completed designs using GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and document analysis reports.
