Job summary

Blue Origin is hiring for a role focused on the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of fluid systems for rockets in the 4-Engine second stage of New Glenn. You will lead designs, perform thermo-fluid modeling, and support test stands for GS2-4E.

On-site work in Van Horne, TX is required with travel up to 30% or relocation possible. You will work with 3D CAD and FEA tools, create high-quality documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system compatibility and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Design fluid component hardware to meet cost, performance, and schedule constraints.
  • Design and route complex fluid subsystems (pressurization, pneumatics, propellant utilization).
  • Create and own development, acceptance, and qualification test activities for your hardware.
  • Work with fluid components (valves, regulators, pressure vessels, instrumentation).
  • Coordinate with other groups to ensure systems work together and manage risk.
  • Demonstrate strong project management: supplier management, scheduling, production interfacing.
  • Work with 3D CAD (Creo) and FEA (ANSYS).
  • Deliver designs with ASME Y14.5 GD&T and documented analyses.
  • Coordinate test readiness, fixturing, materials procurement, instrumentation, manufacturing.
  • Work independently to develop solutions.
