Job summary

BioSpace is seeking a Manager of Flow Cytometry to lead a small team of 2–4 scientists/technologists, oversee day-to-day lab operations, and collaborate with our Clinical team. You will report to the CSO with matrixed support from the VP of Product Development in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on test development, panel design, instrument maintenance, data analysis with FlowJo/R/Python, and ensuring CLIA/CAP/FDA validation readiness through rigorous

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in biology, immunology, or related field.
• 5 years hands-on flow cytometry experience with multi-color panels; 2+ years in supervision.
• Flow cytometry test development experience and analytical validation.
• Familiarity with CLIA, CAP, GCP or equivalent; method validation best practices.
• Proficiency with FlowJo, FCS Express, R, Python and QA/QC approaches.
• Strong communication and collaboration in a multifunctional team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise 2–4 flow cytometry scientists/technologists; hands-on lab work.
• Oversee day-to-day lab operations: equipment, inventory, safety, compliance.
• Develop and optimize sample processing protocols and panel design.
• Prioritize tasks and timelines with project management.
• Instrument standardization, compensation/unmixing, gating, data review, LIS/LIMS.
• Ensure CLIA/CAP/FDA validation documentation and audit readiness.
• Provide scientific analysis and write internal SOPs for flow cytometry.
