Job summary

General Mills, Inc. – Buffalo Flour Mill is seeking a General Maintenance Mechanic to join our maintenance team. You will install, service, repair, and replace milling machinery and related equipment in a fast-paced food production environment.

The role requires strong mechanical skills, the ability to read schematics, and experience with welding and fabrication. Candidates should be able to work rotating shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, while maintaining safety and 5S

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
• Ability to read schematics, troubleshoot mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and perform welding/fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, and replace milling machinery, work tools and equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide technical support to plant leadership.
• Perform welding and fabrication activities as needed.
• Conduct uptime and downtime preventative maintenance to minimize failures.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to boost plant performance.
• Maintain maintenance and metal shops per 5S standards and assist other areas as needed.
