Job summary

MSI is seeking a Sales Representative (Flooring) to drive sales and profit growth for MSI’s Tile product lines within retailer and dealer networks in the Birmingham, AL area.

The role requires building relationships, delivering product training, negotiating terms, and managing displays. Travel up to 90% with Monday–Friday hours; valid driver's license is required and Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Previous sales experience is a plus.
• Industry experience is beneficial but not required.
• Strong math skills for discounts, commissions, and ROI.
• Self-motivated and results-driven; able to work independently and in teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with CRM platforms preferred.
• Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with customers within designated territories and promote flooring and countertop products.
• Provide product knowledge and training to store personnel for effective presentations and negotiations.
• Understand products, competition, and strategies to position offerings advantageously.
• Manage displays, samples, and selling tools for customer availability.
• Quote prices, discuss terms, and prepare sales contracts.
• Estimate delivery dates based on schedules.
• Analyze sales reports to identify opportunities with customers.
• Use catalogs, brochures, and vendor collateral to expand territory reach.
• Research customer needs and market trends to inform demand.
• Resolve delivery, returns, and credit issues; attend trade shows as needed.
• Willing to travel up to 90% with local travel and occasional overnight trips.
