Job summary

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service, building lasting relationships with customers. You will meet with customers, understand project needs, and create design concepts reflecting personal style, lifestyle and budget.

Duties include scheduling appointments, advising on materials, and coordinating from inquiry to installation. Ideal candidates have 1+ year design or retail/sales experience, basic math skills, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year interior design or retail/sales experience.
• Degree in design is a plus.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers and support design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking and referrals.
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice for residential and commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple customer projects through all phases with accuracy and timely follow-up.
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation.
• Support company initiatives by modeling best practices with store employees.
• Engage in current and emerging design trends in the market.
• Understand and utilize design applications Salesforce, Online Design Scheduler, MyProject.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
