Job summary

WestRock seeks a Technical Trainer to support on-site training and certification for operators and craft roles. The trainer conducts floor training, assesses machine skills, and drives certification through the learning system.

Reporting to the site Supervisor, Technical Trainers or GM, the role partners with Operations Learning & Development to ensure certification and training are completed across shifts with a strong safety focus.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ experience in training in a manufacturing setting preferred.
• Growth and results oriented mindset for continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and collaboration with team leaders.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily technical training on the floor to assist with certification.
• Partners with site leadership for New Hire Orientation/On Boarding Training.
• Owns tracking, evaluating, and measuring training locally using company tools.
• Supports site-specific learning solution creation (SOPs, Guided Workflows, Technical Learning Aids).
• Develops and maintains relationships with trainees and leaders.
• Participates in new teammate hiring process by assessing candidates’ skills.
