Job summary

NC State University is seeking a Temporary Floor Supervisor for its Atrium dining facility. This role involves managing dining room operations during the PM Shift, supervising all employees, and ensuring SOPs are followed.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. A high school diploma is required, and experience in food service is preferred.

Work hours are from 10am to 9pm Monday to Thursday, subject to change.

We are seeking individuals to Join our Pack as a Temporary Floor Supervisor. Successful candidates will work in the Atrium dining facility located in the Talley Student Center on the campus of NC State University.

Essential Job Duties

• Organize and manage the dining room to maintain operations for the PM Shift.
• Supervise all employees on their shift.
• Ensure Unit SOPs are being followed and staff are on task; provide professional redirection as appropriate.
• Assist with closing duties as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned to ensure NC State Dining business needs are met.
• Assist in other locations as necessary.

• Be an ambassador for NC State Dining and the university, enriching the quality of life for the campus community and supporting student success.
• Work as part of a cohesive team member to create a positive work environment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrate possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work; experience in a similar capacity is a plus.

• Process credit card and One Card transactions as required.

• Maintain excellence in completing all tasks.
• Stand, walk, bend, twist, pull and push for long periods; work in extremely hot and cold conditions; lift up to 30 lb with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Contribute to maintaining a Grade A sanitation rating of 95% or better.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

• Experience working in a high‑volume restaurant/food service.

Work Schedule

10am to 9pm Monday‑Thursday; hours are subject to change based on business needs.

This is an hourly position that includes a State‑required 32‑day break at the end of 11 months. Superior work performance may provide an opportunity to renew employment and/or advance into a benefits‑eligible permanent position.
