NC State Dining is seeking a Temporary Market Supervisor to lead daily market operations, coach student and temporary staff, and uphold exceptional campus service.

The role offers on-campus hours, with schedule: Monday–Friday, 12 pm–8:30 pm and rotating weekends. Temporary status includes a 31-day break after 24 months of continuous service, with strong performance offering potential advancement.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily store operations, coach student and temporary staff, and foster a welcoming, high-energy environment.
  • Serve as a champion for outstanding customer service, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Oversee POS transactions, maintain financial paperwork, track inventory, and manage purchasing workflows.
  • Uphold daily cleaning protocols to maintain Grade A sanitation standards.
  • Support other dining locations as needed to keep campus operations running smoothly.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead & Train: Supervise daily store operations, coach student and temporary staff, and foster a welcoming, high-energy environment.
  • Deliver Hospitality: Serve as a champion for outstanding customer service, ensuring every guest leaves satisfied.
  • Manage Operations & Inventory: Oversee point-of-sale (Micros POS ) transactions, maintain accurate financial paperwork, track inventory, and ensure smooth purchasing/selling workflows.
  • Maintain High Standards: Execute daily cleaning protocols to uphold our proud Grade “A” Sanitation rating.
  • Adapt & Support: Pitch in across other dining locations as needed to keep campus running seamlessly.

  • Strong attention to detail with a proven track record of following written/verbal instructions and completing tasks efficiently.
  • Intermediate computer literacy with the ability to quickly learn custom department software.
Physical Demands & Environment:

To succeed in this role, you must be comfortable standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods, as well as lifting up to 30 lbs (with or without reasonable accommodation). Roles take place in active kitchen and dining settings, requiring adaptability to both hot and cold working conditions.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
  • Previous experience working in a similar capacity.
  • Supervising or purchasing experience.
  • Experience on a college or university campus if helpful.
