Job summary

H.T. Prof Executive Search seeks a phlebotomist for a contract role in Imperial, CA. The position covers blood draws, specimen handling, and adherence to safety standards. The schedule is 6 AM to 6 PM, Monday–Friday, with potential for permanent placement based on performance.

Requires valid state phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab setting. Mileage reimbursement is provided; willingness to float to nearby sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrates technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Understands all physicians' orders and matches requisitions to specimens.
• Labels, centrifuges, splits, and freezes specimens as required by test orders.
• Checks test requisitions against scripts for accuracy.
• Packages specimens for transport and stores samples properly.
• Complies with OSHA and DEP regulations and attends annual trainings.
• Answer calls and read results to satisfy inquiries.
