Job summary

Eden Capital Careers is seeking a Phlebotomist in Imperial, CA and surrounding areas on a contract basis with potential for permanent placement. The role runs 6 AM–6 PM, M-F, and may float to nearby locations such as Brawley and Calexico.

Duration is approximately 3 months, with mileage expenses paid and a clean driving record required. Experience performing blood draws with proper labeling and specimen handling is essential, along with pediatric and geriatric exposure.

Qualifications

• Must have phlebotomy certification as required by state.
• Minimum six months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and butterfly needles; understand physicians' orders.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correctness; package specimens for transport.
• Store specimen samples according to required temperature; label, and transport to maintain integrity.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual trainings; answer calls and report results.
