Job summary

Meritas Advisory Group, LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist in Bloomington, IN. The contract role is projected for 3 months with potential for permanent placement. Schedule is 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday, with mileage reimbursement.

Responsibilities include blood draws, labeling, centrifuging, and maintaining specimen integrity. Pediatric experience is valued. Requires valid state phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab.

Qualifications

• Requires pediatric experience.
• Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly to patients and demonstrate technique with needles as required.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as needed.
• Store specimens at required temperatures and transport per protocol; comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
