Job summary

Professional Recruiting Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist to support patient blood collection and specimen handling in Bloomington, IN and surrounding areas. The position floats to multiple sites, with 8am-5pm, Monday–Friday, for an initial ~3-month contract with potential for permanent placement.

Requires a valid Phlebotomy certification, at least 6 months of venipuncture experience, and pediatric experience. Mileage expenses are paid and a clean driving record is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Match lab requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure accuracy.
• Package and transport specimens maintaining proper temperatures and labeling.
• Adhere to OSHA/DEP regulations and attend department trainings.
• Answer inquiries and communicate test results as needed.
