Indiana University Health is seeking a Float Registration Specialist to support outpatient clinics, ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate registration. You will receive Cerner training and shadow experienced staff to learn multiple office workflows across locations.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, teamwork, and healthcare familiarity, with shifts Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, in a dynamic outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required
• Prefer relevant experience in a healthcare setting
• Ability to learn and retain medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) preferred
• Ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology preferred
• Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient flow from entry to destination in a timely, professional manner
• Obtain and verify financial and demographic information for accurate billing and clinical outcomes
• Schedule appointments and procedures
• Interview patients for medical information and explain charges and policies
• Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems; collect necessary payments
• Answer incoming calls and direct patients and visitors appropriately
