Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a part-time Float Registration Specialist to support outpatient clinics. You will help maintain smooth patient flow, verify financial and demographic information, and schedule appointments across multiple locations.

Onboarding includes Cerner training and shadowing with other float staff. Ideal candidates have high school diploma or GED, healthcare exposure, and ability to learn medical coding basics.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles desired.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred.
• Ability to learn medical terminology and coding concepts (ICD-10, CPT).
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient flow from entry to destination in a timely, professional manner.
• Obtain and verify financial and demographic information for accurate billing and clinical outcomes.
• Schedule appointments and procedures.
• Interview patients for medical information and explain charges and policies.
• Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems; collect necessary payments.
• Answer incoming calls and direct patients and visitors appropriately.
