Job summary

The Providence Center is seeking a Medical Assistant Float to support physicians, nurses and clinical staff with routine and higher level administrative tasks. The role requires traveling to other departments and program sites as assigned to cover for other Medical Assistants.

Responsibilities include handling patient information, coordinating lab results and appointments, and maintaining confidentiality while delivering excellent customer service within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Entry level position.
• Medical Assistant Certificate and License preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Good typing skills, spelling and grammar.
• Excellent communication skills.
• General computer experience required.
• Able to multitask.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Team player with interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cooperative, respectful relationships with Center Staff, local agencies, consumers and the public.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Type correspondence for doctors in proper format and complete within 24 hours.
• Obtain patient information and lab results as directed by physician.
• Follow-up with Case Managers to ensure patients keep lab appointments.
• Assist physicians and nurses with medication groups and scheduling tests.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and participate in team meetings.
• Work a flexible schedule including some evenings.
