Job summary

The Providence Center seeks a Medical Assistant Float to support physicians, nurses, and clinical staff across sites. You will perform routine administrative tasks and assist in patient care while maintaining professional relationships with staff and the public.

Responsibilities include typographic duties for doctors, HIPAA-compliant document handling, obtaining patient information, and coordinating with Case Managers to ensure timely lab results and follow-ups. Bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant Certificate and License preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Good typing skills and strong spelling/grammar.
• Excellent communication and general computer experience required.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Sustained follow-up on actions and team collaboration essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and higher level administrative tasks to assist physicians, nurses and other clinical staff.
• Maintain cooperative, respectful relationships with Center Staff, local agencies, consumers and the public.
• Travel between TPC department and program sites to cover for other Medical Assistants.
• Type correspondence for doctors and ensure proper formatting within 24 hours.
• Handle documents via copy/fax per HIPAA and policy guidelines.
• Obtain patient information from other agencies and gather lab results.
• Record vital signs and coordinate with Case Managers to keep appointments.
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments; enter medical records for upcoming visits.
• Coordinate medication samples, refills, and pharmacy communications per orders.
• Respond to inquiries and maintain patient confidentiality.
