Job summary

Insight Health Systems in the Metro-Detroit area seeks a Floating Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support across multiple departments and clinic locations as needed.

The role covers patient care, EMR documentation, billing tasks, and coordination with physicians and staff to ensure smooth operations while traveling to Warren, Novi, Trenton, Dearborn, and other sites.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work for any employer in the U.S.
• High school diploma or GED required; related healthcare degree preferred
• CPR certification within 30 days of employment
• Experience with EMR systems preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Room patients and record vital signs; assist with clinical procedures
• Travel to multiple locations (Warren, Novi, Trenton, Dearborn, Brighton) as needed
• Support physicians with clinical procedures and exams
• Handle patient complaints professionally and promptly
• Manage authorizations for treatments and medications
• Process billing and submit claims weekly; understand billing codes
• Schedule follow-up visits and coordinate referrals
• Maintain and update EMR with accuracy and efficiency
• Train and mentor new Medical Assistants and staff
• Assist with performance reviews and team development
• Support operations across divisions as needed
• All other duties as assigned by the manager
